Major setback for mamta didi once again she changes her stance on waqf properties act which was passed by the centre government few months back, previously On Sir also she had diluted her stance, previously she declared that sir and waqf board amendedent act won’t be implemented in west bengal,but as the time passes she understands the gravity of Sir and waqf properties bill and diluted her stance.

West Bengal Secretary has issued a fresh notice to ensure that all details of registered Waqf properties are uploaded on the UMEED portal by the deadline of December 5, 2025. This notice is part of a nationwide mandate to upload all data related to Waqf properties to the UMEED portal, which is a centralized digital platform for real-time monitoring and management of these properties. Failure to complete the uploading by this date may lead to legal complications and penalties for the caretakers (mutawallis).The UMEED portal upload requirement comes under the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, which mandates all registered Waqf details to be entered as they exist today. The portal is designed to ensure transparent and effective management of Waqf properties including mosques, madrasas, graveyards, and other religious endowments. The deadline has been strongly emphasized despite ongoing legal challenges, and there are calls for community members and authorities to establish Help Desks to assist with the technical process of data uploading.For West Bengal specifically, mutawallis and committees who have not yet uploaded their Waqf property details have been reminded urgently to comply with the requirement before December 5, 2025, to avoid complications or penalties.
